I remember getting off the bus at my grandma’s house when I was a little girl. “Nana” would always have after school snacks ready and waiting for us. My favorite after school snacks were cookies and milk! In fact, she had an aluminum cookie jar shaped like an apple filled with cookies. There were times I’d try to sneak cookies out of it and I was afraid she’s hear me shut the lid and it make a “ding” sound. Yes, I know it wasn’t right to sneak cookies and when I got older, I confessed. It seems that all of my brothers, sisters, and cousins did this now that we discuss it at family gatherings! My dad tells me he’s going to pass down that cookie jar one day to me because I loved it. There were so many “sweet memories” that came from that cookie jar!

Now that I’m a mom, I get to share delicious after school snacks with my own kids. Recently, I picked up a box of Back to Nature Chocolate Chunk Cookies to surprise them with after they were dropped off at the bus stop. I had these cookies and milk waiting for them when they came home!

They were excited to try these cookies. One of the reasons why I like giving my kids the Back to Nature Chocolate Chunk Cookies is because they are made with wheat flour and semisweet chocolate chunks. They contain no hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. I feel these cookies are a better choice than other cookies.

When I gave these cookies to my girls, I didn’t hear any complaints. In fact, they asked for more! I allowed two cookies after school and told them they could have some tomorrow, too. We may even consider leaving these for Santa this year!
