Liberté® Méditerranée® Yogurt

I get a little excited every spring and summer because I know that I’ll be able to enjoy my favorite “warm weather flavors” including coconut and pineapple. Coconut and pineapple are the perfect combination this time of year. This combination is one of the reasons why I love sipping on Pina Coladas by the beach or pool when we go on vacations during this season!

I went to my local Publix recently and discovered a brand of yogurt that I had never heard of before: Liberté® Méditerranée®. There are several different flavors to choose from including:

• Liberté® Méditerranée® Cappuccino
• Liberté® Méditerranée® Caramel
• Liberté® Méditerranée® Blackberry
• Liberté® Méditerranée® Coconut
• Liberté® Méditerranée® French Vanilla
• Liberté® Méditerranée® Lemon
• Liberté® Méditerranée® Strawberry

I picked up a few flavors and headed home. When I got home, I asked my husband this question:

“If you could pick any one of these yogurt flavors and add anything to it that we have on hand right now here at home, what would you choose?”

Liberté® Méditerranée® Yogurt

He started naming a few choices such as pecans to the caramel flavored yogurt, graham crackers to the strawberry yogurt, honey to the French Vanilla and then he got really excited. He remembered the can of crushed pineapple that needed to be used from a previous shopping trip.

It was kind of cute watching how excited he was to be able to get creative with flavors. He opened the crushed pineapple and added it to the Liberté® Méditerranée® Coconut yogurt, tried it, and instantly fell in love! I tasted this combination and knew we found a winner combination!

This is the perfect combination to enjoy on a warm spring or summer day!

I learned that in 1964 a group of employees traveled to Europe to find the perfect formula for the yogurt.

I learned and like that they refrain from adding gelatin, sugar substitutes or preservatives to their yogurt.

I LOVE Liberte yogurt, and just wish they still sold it at my local HEB, where I first found it.

I learned the name was inspired by the Statue of Liberty when the family first immigrated to the US.

The lemon yogurt used to sell poorly, but the artisans worked very hard to market it and now it is one of their best sellers.

I learned that the lemon flavor didn’t sell well when they first started, but it is now one of their best sellers!

I learned they are gluten free, all natural, have some great flavors and combinations and a product locator.

On the Liberte website I learned that one of the company’s very first employees spoke French and Yiddish.
