Winter Fun in Ocala/Marion County, Florida

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ocala/Marion County VCB for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Winter is here and so are the Holidays! Our family loves the hustle and bustle of parties, families, food, gifts, and a busy schedule. At the end of it all, I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation. This year, we are planning on doing just that! Sometime in the New Year, we decided to make a run for Florida and warmer weather. We are planning to head to Central Florida, and Ocala/Marion County immediately came to mind. The friendly, easy-paced life in Ocala/Marion County allow for fun and relaxing vacations. Check out all of these Ocala/Marion County Activities that your family can take advantage of during your trip.

We have two adventurous young girls, and they do not want to be stuck inside, so we are planning on visiting one of the many horse farms in Ocala/Marion County the official “Horse Capital of the World.” We plan on taking the girls on trail-rides in warmer weather, and we also plan on taking them to tour some of the horse farms in the local area as well. We know that they will love the experience of being around these majestic animals.

Of course, we also leave time for the parents as well. We will usually have a parent swap! For example, I will spend quality time with my kids, while my husband goes to enjoy a round of golf. With all of the many golf courses in Marion County, my husband will be begging for multiple golf excursions. He will return the favor for me as well!

My husband loves to take our girls on a “daddy & daughter date” while I go for some “retail therapy!” A typical day for my hubby and girls is to go for dinner and a movie. There is no shortage of great restaurants and movie theaters in Marion County.

However, they also love to go on adventure dates, and Ocala and Marion County deliver on that front as well. For example, a trip to batting cages or racing go-carts are all excellent choices while in the Ocala area. While they are having fun, I plan on doing some shopping. Ocala/Marion County have the same name brand stores that you can find in your hometown, but they also have unique specialty shops and boutiques as well. Marion County has it all from antique malls, gift shops, book stores, jewelry retailers, art galleries, and much more. When we all want to spend time together, Marion County still offers plenty for all of us to spend time together outside. We love to go on hikes, fishing, kayaking, and bike rides. The best news is that we can enjoy these activities in the mild winter weather that Central Florida offers. We may even sit around a little fire and roast marshmallows!

Make Florida Travel a priority in 2017! While planning your vacation to Ocala/Marion County, you’ll want to find Ocala/Marion County Lodging that works for your family! Staying in a cabin during the winter months sounds like a fun idea to me!
