This has been one super fun summer for our family filled with activities to keep us entertained! We’ve enjoyed camping, water parks, zoo trips, swimming, Vacation Bible School, shopping, zoos, sports events, and much more! The summer days are coming to a close soon and my kids will be heading back to school this month. This year I’ll have three kids in three different schools!

When we weren’t involved in a fun summer activity over the last two months, my girls have enjoyed their screen time. I do try to limit screen time when I feel they’ve been using their devices too often, but over the summer I’m way more lenient when it comes to screen time. If my girls are up to speed on their chores and their supplemental work that I assign to them, they do get extra time on their devices. I will say that I’ve been very impressed with my girls and their level of responsibility as they are getting older. They know what’s expected of them and they do a great job getting things completed without me having to ask several times.

Learning is Fun with TinkerActive Workbooks

With the school year approaching, TinkerActive workbooks have been a wonderful addition to our collection of books at home for summer reading and learning. It’s easy for kids to forget what they learned over the previous school year when they aren’t practicing the skills on a regular basis. That’s why my daughter and I love the interactive TinkerActive workbooks.

My soon to be second grader is able to practice her math and science problem solving skills all summer long in a fun way and continue learning throughout the summer. By the time she enters second grade, my hopes are that she’ll feel more confident with her skills and not feel behind in these subject areas. She’s able to practice reading as well with these workbooks as she works to navigate word problems and other activities, too.

As a mom, I enjoy working with my daughter as she explores her way through the TinkerActive workbooks. It’s exciting to watch her get excited as she completes each activity and move on to the next. Not only does she learn new skills and practice what she already knows, working our way through the workbooks gives us some additional bonding time as we complete assigned activites. I am able to assist her with any questions she has and check over her work.

As a fun bonus, my daughter loves the reward at the end of the workbooks. The reward is a magnet that looks like a merit badge that she can display proudly with the included poster.

TinkerActive workbooks are not only great to have on hand during summer breaks, but they are also great for packing with you when you are taking long road trips in the car or waiting around at appointments, extracurricular activities, or even working on during long bus rides homes. Keep these workbooks at your child’s homework station to have on hand on days when the homework load is light!
