Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country.

It is also a time to spend quality time with family and friends.

Memorial Day Handprint Craft

If you have toddlers at home, involve them in the festivities and make the day even more meaningful with these ten easy and fun crafts.

These crafts are sure to keep your toddler entertained while also teaching them about the importance of the holiday.

American Flag Handprint

Take a sheet of paper and paint your toddler’s hand red and white. Then, paint their thumb blue and press it on the paper.

This creates a flag design which can be hung as decoration or given as a gift.

Patriotic Windsock

Take a paper plate and cut strips of red, white, and blue tissue paper.

Have your toddler glue the strips to the edge of the paper plate, then attach ribbons or streamers to the bottom.

Firework Painting

Dip a ball of bubble wrap in red, white, and blue paint. Have your toddler press the ball onto a sheet of paper to create the illusion of fireworks.

Liberty Bell Craft

Paint a toilet paper roll silver, then cut out a “crack” in the roll.

Next, create a paper bell by cutting out a circle and gluing a triangle to the top. Add a paper handle to complete the craft.

Starry Night Sky

Using black paper, have your toddler paint dots of white or yellow paint to create a starry sky.

Add red, white and blue stars with a sponge or paintbrush for a patriotic addition.
