This printable fall craft gives kids the freedom to decorate their wreath however they like.

Some children might choose bright orange pumpkins and yellow sunflowers, while others may want a wreath covered in colorful autumn leaves. They can even add squirrels, pine cones, and acorns for a woodland-themed fall wreath.

The activity includes four printable pages:

  • A blank wreath template with a marked hanging hole
  • 12 fall leaves in three different designs
  • Pine cones, acorns, and pumpkins
  • Sunflowers and squirrels holding acorns

All four pages are black and white, so children can enjoy coloring the decorations before assembling their wreaths.

Supplies Needed

You only need a few basic supplies to make this fall wreath craft:

  • Fall wreath craft printable
  • White printer paper or cardstock
  • Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
  • Child-safe scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Hole punch
  • Yarn, ribbon, or twine

Cardstock can help make the finished wreath sturdier, especially if children plan to hang it on a door or wall.

How to Make a Fall Wreath Craft

Step 1: Color the wreath.

Print the wreath template and let your child color the circular base. Brown, orange, yellow, and other fall colors work well.

Step 2: Color the fall decorations.

Let children color the leaves, pumpkins, squirrels, sunflowers, pine cones, and acorns. Encourage them to use their favorite colors.

Step 3: Cut out the pieces.

Cut around the outside of the wreath and remove the center circle. Next, cut out the decorations. Younger children may need help with some of the smaller pieces.

Step 4: Decorate the wreath.

Arrange the cutouts around the wreath until you’re happy with the design. Glue the decorations in place, overlapping some pieces to create a colorful fall wreath.

Step 5: Hang your finished wreath.

Punch a hole at the marked spot near the top of the wreath. Thread yarn, ribbon, or twine through the hole and tie it into a loop for hanging.
