Baby Food Ideas for 6 to 9 Month Old Babies

July 13, 2020 by Mom. Wife. Busy Life. Leave a Comment

After your baby has had his first taste of solid food, it is important to continue to vary and widen his diet with tasty, easy, and healthy purées.

Here are a few Baby Food Ideas for 6 to 9 Month Old Babies.

Baby Food Ideas for 6 to 9 Month Old Babies

Annabel Karmel’s book “100 Top Baby Purees” provides easy and exciting recipes for weaning your baby from 5 to 6 months, 6 to 9 months, and up until 9 to 12 months.

With each stage of development, the recipes evolve to include more variety of ingredients as well as new tastes of meat and fish (along with innovative ways to introduce the dreaded greens).

How to Store Baby Food

All the baby food below can be prepared in advance and frozen for later use. After puréeing the food, place the contents into baby food freezer trays and freeze (each compartment will provide one serving).

When frozen, the meals can then be transferred to resealable freezer bags, labeled and dated. Then, they’re ready to be defrosted and warmed up when required.

Chicken Puree and Carrots

This is a fantastic introduction to meat for your baby.

The addition of apples complements the flavor of the chicken as well as ensures a naturally sweeter taste that your baby will appreciate.

Moreover, the protein found in chicken helps to promote growth and development, so you can be sure that your child is receiving a meal abundant in vitamins and nutrients.

Tasty Salmon Purée

Orange juice, cheese, and salmon may sound a bit strange, but this recipe is really delicious!

The early introduction of fish into your baby’s diet is a fantastic idea, as it contains omega three, which aids visual and brain development.

The soft texture and light flavor provide a gentle, sweet introduction to fish. Also, fish is an excellent substitute for meat if your baby doesn’t like it.

Leek and Cauliflower

This recipe is basically a jazzed-up cauliflower cheese.

The difference is that it packs in more vegetables and more taste. Leeks have a strong and distinctive taste, so putting them in this recipe ensures that your baby’s palate is gently subjected to many flavors early on in life.

Of course, the earlier your baby tries these vegetables, the more likely he is to enjoy them as he grows up.

Apple and Plum with Berries

As with vegetables, it is important to vary your child’s intake of the fruit early on in order to introduce them to a range of flavors and textures.

This apple and plum with berries baby food are great; it is a lovely blue color, and babies love to experiment with it in the high chair.

Easy One-Pot Chicken

This recipe is as the title says—easy and one pot! Chuck it all in and presto, a nutritious meal with four vegetables to give your baby a flying start and tickle his tastebuds!

I hope that these recipe ideas for babies will provide some inspiration or the confidence to try purées other than carrots and mashed bananas!
