If your child is among the latter, you may want to help them make a leprechaun trap! This simple yet effective trap can help snag a leprechaun and bring him or her back home safely.

How to Make a Leprechaun Trap
To make a leprechaun trap, you’ll want to provide a variety of supplies for kids to create their trap. Here’s a list of supplies that I recommend:

Here are our leprechaun traps that we’ve created over the years.
Leprechaun Trap Ideas
Leprechaun Trap #1
Supplies used: box, green construction paper, Easter grass, green shred filler, colorful pom poms, black cauldron, gold coins, colorful popsicle sticks, tape.
To trap the leprechaun, the leprechaun crawls up the ladder, tries to get the shiny gold coins, but falls into the trap because he didn’t see the hole that was under the grass and shred filler.
Leprechaun Trap #2
Supplies used: box, green shred filler, gold ribbon, gold Easter egg, black cauldron, decorative glittery shamrocks and coins, green pony beads, green construction paper.
The idea is similar to the one above. The leprechaun will try to obtain the shiny objects on the top but will fall into a tricky trap instead, landing in the box.
Leprechaun Trap #3
Supplies used: box, fabric, black cauldron, gold coins, popsicle sticks, toy ladder, decorative shamrocks, black marker, tape.
For this trap, the leprechaun climbs the ladder, but little does he know, there’s a piece of fabric that is not attached, so he falls into the box by slipping through the fabric.
Leprechaun Trap #4
Supplies used: box, stickers, gold coins, paper towel roll, straws, green construction paper, stamps.
The leprechaun would crawl up on the ladder and into the box to retrieve the coins, but the paper towel tubes will crash down and the lid will trap the leprechaun in the box.
Leprechaun Trap #5
Supplies used: box, construction paper, straws, leprechaun decoration, gold coins, stickers, beads, money.
The idea is the leprechaun climbs into the box to get the gold shiny objects but gets stuck and can’t get out.
