Monkey Toilet Paper Roll Craft
Supplies:
- empty toilet paper roll (you can buy craft rolls in bulk)
- Printable Monkey Templates *see below
- brown construction paper
- brown pipe cleaners
- school glue
- scissors
- pencil
Directions:
(Note: You do not have to use a cutting device for this craft. You can follow the patterns as best as you can if you do not have a device.)
To use a cutting device (such as Cricut Explore), use the PNG images. Upload to your machine software. Size the images as follows:
- Monkey face and ears = 6 inches wide
- White eyes – 2 inches width
- Black eyes and nostrils = 1.5 inches width
If you prefer to cover the cardboard tube, cut another sheet of paper to fit the cardboard tube, approximately 4 inches by 6 inches. Glue the paper to the cardboard tube.
Glue the white eyes, black eyes, and nostrils to face piece.
Cut two small tabs from the remaining scrap paper, approximately 1 inch by 2 inches. Glue these tabs to the inner curved edge of the monkey ears. Allow to dry.
Attach the monkey ears to the sides of the cardboard tube and the face to the front.
Curl the chenille stem around a pencil. Attach one end to the back of the cardboard tube and shape the curling chenille stem around the cardboard tube.
Allow the craft to dry completely before playing or displaying.
