Are you a mom in need of a day of pampering? Read our tips on How to Create a Spa Day at Home for Busy Moms.

Spa Day At Home for Busy Moms

I’m a mom of two girls (11 and 8) and one boy (3). This Mother’s Day, I want something simple. I see it as an opportunity to take a day of rest and pampering. If my family were to ask me what I’d like for Mother’s Day, I’d be quick to answer that I’d want a day of rest and relaxation as well as a chance to pamper myself, at home – alone.

I spend a lot of time with my kids on a regular basis, especially now that my kids are out of school for several months. A silent home with just me and my thoughts and a few items to help pamper myself during my day alone is all I need for a perfect Mother’s Day. This will require the help of my husband of course. He will be in charge of entertaining the kids while I enjoy my day of pampering.

If you are dreaming of a spa day at home, consider these tips below to play the perfect day of rest and relaxation for you!

Spa Day At Home for Busy Moms

Turn off distractions.

Turn your phone to silent to avoid receiving any phone calls, texts, notifications, or distractions during your spa day at home. Leave your phone in another room and try not to even have it near you if possible. The last thing you want is to receive a notification that causes anxiety during your time of relaxation!

Set the mood of the room.

Light a few candles around the room in a safe location. If you don’t want to deal with flames on candles, I recommend using flameless candles. Turn the light settings on low if possible to provide the perfect relaxing atmosphere for your spa day. Turn on relaxing music to listen to.

Have a pitcher of water available.

If you’ve ever visited a spa, you may recognize that most spas have a pitcher of water nearby. Many times, the water is infused with fruits or other flavors that make spa day even more refreshing!

Here are 12 Infused Water Recipe ideas that you can try for your next spa day!

Pull Back Your Hair

If you are planning to do your own facial at home, pull back your hair with a hair tie or hair towel wrap to keep your hair from getting on your face or sticking to your face mask!

Give yourself a facial.

Give yourself a facial by using a facial steamer, facial cleanser, and/or facial mask. You can try placing a slice of cucumber over your eyes for a refreshing experience!

Give yourself a manicure and pedicure.

Save money on a salon style manicure and pedicure and do your own at home! Start with a warm foot bath, then treat your hands and feet! You can use a pedicure set and pretty nail polish for your DIY session.

Enjoy a relaxing bubble bath.

Enjoy a warm lavender bubble bath to relax during your spa day at home. Soak in the tub and feel the stress melt away!

Here are a few additional additions you can try for your at home spa day.

Make homemade bath bombs or soap.

Do-it-yourself bath bombs and soaps are a fun addition to an at home spa day for busy moms! Check out how to make bath bombs and soap below:

Add a favorite book with coffee or tea.

When you are feeling fresh and clean from from your spa experience, it’s time to sit and relax with a good book or magazine with a cup of coffee or tea. Consider an Audible membership so that you can listen to your favorite books while relaxing!

Don’t forget the yummy chocolates!

Don’t forget to pamper yourself with yummy chocolates! Chocolate candy is a great way to end a day of pampering.

Gift a spa-themed subscription box.

Subscription boxes are a trending item and a great idea for moms. I love receiving subscription boxes in the mail. Check out these Mother’s Day Subscription Boxes! There are a variety of options to choose from including sets that will compliment a spa day at home.

A home spa day sounds amazing to me. Between my blog and my 3 fur babies, I don’t have much time at all for myself.

I’m looking forward to a day out with my hubby for Valentinens Day but it’s different when your baby is only going to be 6 weeks old. You described my pre-baby day wish!

My wife’s love language is definitely spoiling, and this basket looks absolutely perfect. What a great idea for Valentines Day, especially because if I get her flowers one more year in a row, I’m going to discover Valentine’s Day from the couch’s point of view.

It’s always the little things that make us happy, right? I mean a bath and some lotion is much, but it does make us feel special! 🙂
